Facebook 101 – How to Use Facebook Privacy Settings to Protect Your Account

This is the most important topic of all. It is about protecting your account from exploitations, keeping your data private and non accessible from strangers. Facebook used to be a closed network site but now after the new plans and integrations, users need to take this matter into their own hands. We will try to be more alert in any privacy changes, so make sure you subscribe to us for most updated info.

So here are the basics:

Yes, we need to go through ALL of them. Make sure you’re following us close as usually the option is set to viewable to EVERYBODY in default. After you customized your settings, use Preview My Profile (at the top left corner) to check if you missed anything.

Can I Hide Myself from being Found on Facebook?

Some people are very protective with their Facebook personal accounts. In order to hide your account from People Search, you need to change the settings as followed:

1. At Privacy Settings, select Search.

2. Change the settings for Facebook Search Results and Public Search Results. Preview the results with ‘See Preview’:
