How to Set Default Landing tab for your facebook page

Earlier in June, I wrote about how you can edit and set landing tab for your facebook page. Recently, facebook had updated their page layout and most of the page settings are readjusted.

Few days ago a reader told me it is no longer possible to set the default landing tab for fan page. Actually you still can, just need to find out where to look for the settings. There are overall, two ways you can set the landing tab on your fan page. One of them:

Click at Edit Page > Manage Permissions > Default landing tab

Another way is much easier. Just look for it on your page wall. Click at ‘Settings’ to reveal the wall settings. There you can see ‘default landing tab for everyone else’, make your selection.

You should know that not all fan pages are given this privilege to set landing tab. Community pages, for instance, do not have this option. Another thing you should be aware of is that default landing tab is only designed so non-fans can see them. Page admins, on the other hand will always land on the Wall, whether they had liked their own page or not.

So go ahead and set that landing tab for your facebook page. You can even customize one with the FBML codes you learned few weeks ago. Add Static FBML to your page, add welcome video too if you like. Have fun!
