How to Upload a Profile Picture to Facebook

This is a fun and simple process. I’m sure you’ll catch up right away.

1. Click Edit My Profile below your name > Profile Picture
2. Click Browse > look for your picture in your PC > Click Open to upload your chosen image to Facebook. Make sure the size is not exceeding 4MB. Resize your profile picture so it won’t take a long time to load.

Note: ‘take a picture’ is for instant snapping for webcams.

Here is an example of how the picture will display itself after finish loading:

What is ‘Edit Thumbnail’?

For those who uploaded a large picture – none symmetrical with excessive width and length, you can edit the thumbnail so the picture fits at the chosen position. For example, this penguin picture is slightly bigger than it should, you can see both sides been chopped off automatically in the thumbnail version:

Let’s say if I want to focus just the two penguins at the right side to be my thumbnail, move your mouse to the thumbnail until a cross-like cursor appear. Drag the image to adjust until you found the desired angle. Click Save and there’s my two penguins:

Why is Thumbnail Important?

Thumbnail is displayed for each response and update you post on Facebook, even outside your very own account.
